Privacy, in plain English
What we collect through the forms on this site, why we collect it, where it is kept, and how to have it changed or deleted.

The short version
- We collect personal data only through our two forms, the enquiry form and the newsletter sign-up, plus a few technical details that come with each form. Both are listed below.
- This site uses no analytics, no advertising cookies and no tracking scripts.
- We do not sell your data.
- You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete what we hold about you.
What the enquiry form collects
When you send an enquiry, we receive what you type or choose:
- your name and email address;
- your company and website;
- the product, quantity, market, stage and service you choose;
- the topic and your message.
We need your name and email address so that we can reply. For an order we also ask what you want to make, and for other topics a short message. Everything else is up to you.
With each enquiry, we also store four things you do not type:
- the page of this site you sent it from;
- the country your connection comes from, which Cloudflare (the company that runs this site) tells us;
- a one-way code made from your IP address (see how we handle your IP address);
- your browser’s “user agent”: a short line of text every browser sends, which names the browser and its version.
What the newsletter form collects
The sign-up form for the Bangladesh Sourcing Brief collects only your email address and which form you used, for example the one at the bottom of each page. As with enquiries, we also store your country and the one-way code made from your IP address.
Why we collect it
- To reply to your enquiry and follow it up.
- To send you the Bangladesh Sourcing Brief, if you signed up for it.
- To stop spam: the IP code lets us limit how many forms one connection can send in an hour.
- To understand where our readers are and which pages lead to enquiries (the country and the page), and to look into problems with the forms in a particular browser (the user agent).
Where it is stored
Form data is stored in a database on Cloudflare’s network, called Cloudflare D1. Cloudflare also delivers this website. Cloudflare runs its network in many countries, so your data may be stored or processed outside the country where you live.
Mail sent to hello@loomandharvest.com is forwarded to our inbox, which is hosted by Google (Gmail). We reply from there, and we may also send ourselves a copy of each enquiry there. So your enquiry, and any emails between us, are also kept in that inbox.
Your IP address
Every connection to a website has an IP address. When you send a form, our server mixes your IP address with the day’s date and turns the result into a one-way code, called a hash. With your form we store only that code, never your IP address itself. Because the date is part of the mix, the code for the same connection changes every day.
We use the code for one thing: counting how many forms have come from the same connection in the last hour, to block spam.
Cookies and tracking
We set no cookies for analytics or advertising, and we run no tracking scripts. We do not use Google Analytics or any similar service, and we do not show adverts. Our fonts and images are served from this website, not from outside services.
To deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare handles your IP address on every visit, as any web host does. Its short-term technical logs may include it; we use those logs only to fix problems with the site. Cloudflare’s privacy policy explains how it handles this data.
Links to YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and to our sources take you to other websites, which have their own privacy rules.
Who else sees it
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. The only other companies that handle it are the ones that run our tools: Cloudflare (the website and the database) and Google (our email inbox). We will not pass your details to a factory without asking you first.
How long we keep it
We keep an enquiry for as long as we need it to answer you and follow up on your project. If you ask us to delete it, we delete it. Newsletter addresses stay on the list until you leave it or ask us to delete them.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- show you the data we hold about you (access);
- correct it if it is wrong (correction);
- delete it (deletion);
- stop using it for a purpose you object to, such as the newsletter (objection).
People in the UK and the EU have these rights under data-protection law. We offer them to everyone. To ask, email hello@loomandharvest.com from the address you used, or tell us which address it was. If you live in the UK or the EU and are not happy with our answer, you can complain to your national data-protection authority.
Leaving the newsletter
You can leave the Bangladesh Sourcing Brief at any time. Reply to any issue and ask to be removed, or use the link at the end of each email.
